GOOGLE PLAYTIME : BERLIN / AMSTERDAM
Code convention!
Google Playtime is an event for the developers of games and entertainment apps on Android phones. Google want to show their appreciation to all the people who contribute their work to the Google Store. The event also hosts talks and lectures for expanding the knowledge base of everyone involved. We were brought in to film and record this event over consecutive years in Berlin and Amsterdam.
Brits abroad
Whilst working as a Production Manager at Flux I would manage the crewing for these events including personnel hire, flights, transport, logistics and accomodation.
I would also manage the day to day proceedings and report to the client on all the records and edits that needed to be turned around every night.
I did not speak German or Dutch but I tried.
Working with glass
I made sure that the FS7 cameras and glass attached were suitable for the job by using floorplans and cross checking against the field of views on each lens. Higher levels of planning were needed because finding equipment quickly whilst outside of London would be tricky. A mix of PL Fujinon and Canon lenses were used to give a filmic look rather than a standard B4 broadcast look. This made the records stand out against what is the norm online.
